2013年，上海高校首批名师慕课亮相全球平台，电脑里展示了上海交大精品课程《数学之旅》/视觉中国

想学习一门新课程或者技术的成年人，也不一定非要自己从头开始阅读书籍，网络上开放的课程就能满足很大程度的需求。像起源于2008年的MOOC课程，有来自各大高校的免费课程，2011年，斯坦福大学将3门计算机免费开放，注册人数均就超过了10万人。

就算书籍的阅读量低也并不能说明什么，很多其他的学习方式已经兴起了，你可以在路上听有声书，在家里上网络公开课，在手机上阅读重要的资讯并及时讨论。

事实上，从来没有哪种学习或成长方式，是放诸四海皆准的。人们因为喜好、习惯或者资源不爱读书或者不能读书，都是再正常不过的事情了。读书也并不见得就比看电影、听课、打游戏更能教会人生道理。惊呼“中国人竟然不读书”，其偏见程度并不低于惊呼“竟然有人觉得吴亦凡不帅”。
